Africa’s social challenges far outstrip the available resources. We need to think of how we can better use our limited resources to catalyze innovation and scale impact. With our convening power, AVPA intends to bring together diverse partners to harness the power of collective resource mobilization in support of scalable and effective social innovation while strengthening impact ecosystems and structures across Africa.
The AVPA Philanthropic Funds initiative consists of multi-partner pooled funds that will provide funding that allows impact organisations to plug in the missing gaps, enabling them to strengthen their capacity and capabilities within their ecosystem, resulting in sustainable, scalable and impactful change.
AVPA is partnering with The Roddenberry Foundation through its +1 Global Fund to provide a unique opportunity to join other funders (e.g. Skoll, Vitol, Shockwave, and Tarsadia Foundations) to support the yawning gap of funding early and growth stage impact organizations on the continent, which will in turn, enable them to attract follow-on downstream financing for scale and growth. Through this partnership, we will be funding two critical sectors: Agribusiness and Healthcare across the continent.
Join us on Tuesday, September 12, 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm East African Time for an informational session where Lior Ipp, the CEO of The Roddenberry Foundation and Frank Aswani, CEO of AVPA will discuss the Philanthropic Pooled Funds model and its potential for scalable impact in Africa.
